Automotive brand XPENG Thailand, in collaboration with YDM Thailand, has launched “The Pink Code,” a software-based safety initiative designed to help drivers assess their surroundings before entering their vehicle.
Launched on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, the initiative targets a moment most vehicle safety systems overlook — the seconds between approaching a parked car and opening the door, a situation that can feel uncertain, particularly for women in low-light or isolated environments.
Rather than introducing new hardware, The Pink Code uses XPENG’s existing XCOMBO automation platform and XGUARD security system to create a new vehicle behavior. Activated by entering an eight-digit code — 7495 0028 — in the XPENG app, the system triggers automatically each time the driver approaches the vehicle.
Once active, the car illuminates the surrounding area, activates sensors and cameras to monitor nearby movement, and sends real-time alerts to the driver’s phone if something unusual is detected. If a potential threat is identified, the vehicle responds with light and sound signals.
The code is shareable across XPENG’s owner community, allowing any XPENG driver to activate the same behavior.
“What we found meaningful about this project is the shift it represents – From protecting the vehicle to protecting the person approaching it,” said YDM Chief Creative Officer Anuwat Nitipanont.
“From reacting after to acting before. And from “Is the car safe?” to “Is this moment safe for you?”
