Shopavision, an independent mobile-first live stream commerce app, is officially launching its mobile application to cater to the growing demand for live streaming for retail and SME merchants and consumers in Singapore.
For shoppers, Shopavision aims to be “The place-to-be for live stream shopping.” Shoppers can expect entertaining, educational, and informative stream videos where retailers, business owners, and influencers will demonstrate and sell the products and services.
Prior to the launch of their mobile app, Shopavision generated more than SGD$60,000 in sales and conducted more than 60 live stream shows on the Shopavision Facebook page and for their clients. The app currently has close to 30 live stream hosts and a variety of merchants on board.
Once shoppers download the app, they can check out different live stream videos for products ranging from F&B, beauty to lifestyle. It’s a one-stop platform to discover brands and engage in live stream shows.
If they like the products that they are shown in realtime by live stream hosts, they can choose to buy them instantly within the live stream or add to cart and make payment directly via payment modes – credit cards, PayNow, or e-wallets GrabPay, RazerPay without leaving the live stream.
A consumer-fronting platform, Shopavision is also equipped with a backend system, which is integrated with e-commerce capabilities, live stream video technology, interactive/engagement live stream features, sales management, customer relationship management, audience profiling, and data analytics. Merchants can also connect and restream to their social media page at real-time.
Shopavision offers a suite of related services such as live stream hosts, studios, production, campaign management, marketing, and media.
“We want to build an ecosystem that supports the merchants and create opportunities for people to become live stream hosts, especially those whose income has been affected by the pandemic. This could become a second career for them,” said Rachel Pang, Founder and CEO of Shopavision.
The platform aims to empower merchants in their digitization journey. Earlier this year, Shopavision worked with a traditional fish and crab farm whose business was adversely impacted by Covid-19. Through three live stream sessions that spanned two hours each, they managed to rake in a total revenue of SGD$15,000.
Shopavision coined the term #retailtainment and retailers can hold a virtual storefront on Shopavision and use live streaming to reach out and promote right from the store.
During the pandemic, Shopavision assisted brands to go live right from the retail store and drive awareness, engagement, and achieved Online to Offline traffic.
Inspired by the widespread penetration of live streaming in China, Rachel Pang, Founder of Shopavision, decided to bring the concept to Singapore. A recent study commissioned by Shopavision found that 90% of people in China consume live streaming content as compared to 15% in Singapore.
“Consumers are no longer just browsing through product descriptions, but they are now actively participating in the buying process,” said Rachel Pang, Founder, Shopavision. “They can ask questions, get responses live, and get entertained by live streamers, from the convenience of their homes. Live streaming is the future of online commerce.”
Shopavision has been bootstrapping since 2019 and was supported by Infocomm Media Development Authority. To fuel the growth of its local operations, Shopavision recently received a SGD$500,000 seed fund from an angel investor. The funds will be used to grow the team, enhance the live stream commerce system and analytics, and penetrate the local market.
The Shopavision mobile app is free and available for download on Google Playstore for Android devices and on App Store for iOS devices.
Shopavision is hosting Singapore’s first Christmas Live Stream festival from 13 – 24 December 2020. Shoppers can tune in for all things related to Christmas from feasting to gifting.
Shopavision has also partnered with GrabPay and RazerPay to offer up to $10 discounts for first-time shoppers on the mobile app.
