“Expanding into the UK gives us an opportunity to foster new collaborations, connect exceptional talent across borders and create a genuine exchange of ideas between creative communities.”

Pakistan-founded production company Shiny Toy Guns has opened a London office, with plans to foster creative exchange between the UK and talent across Southeast Asia, Turkey, and the Middle East.

The female-led company was founded in 2017 by filmmaker and director Asma Humayun and works across advertising, film, and cultural storytelling. The London expansion will focus on post-production and craft, with the company aiming to serve as a conduit for diverse creative voices within the UK industry.

Commercial production will remain central to Shiny Toy Guns’ operations. According to the release, the company is also seeking to produce work with cultural and social impact, using storytelling to contribute to positive change.

“At its core, Shiny Toy Guns is built on the belief that creativity is strongest when different perspectives come together,” said Humayun.

“Expanding into the UK gives us an opportunity to foster new collaborations, connect exceptional talent across borders and create a genuine exchange of ideas between creative communities. We’re excited to build partnerships that not only deliver outstanding work, but also harness the power of storytelling to create meaningful social and cultural impact.”

The London opening follows recognition in the recently announced One Club Global Creative Rankings, in which Humayun was ranked the number one director in Asia Pacific for Creative Effectiveness. Shiny Toy Guns was ranked the number one production company in Pakistan and number 13 in the Loeries Creative Rankings, which the release describes as the only production company from Pakistan represented in the global top tier.

The company’s credits include Child Wedding Cards, a campaign for UN Women Pakistan and Impact BBDO Dubai that the release says helped spark national conversation around child marriage legislation in Pakistan. The campaign won the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Good, along with honors from The One Show, D&AD, Clio Awards, and ANDYs.

Its work also includes Schoolgirl Newscasters, a nationally broadcast campaign focused on girls’ education that received a Glass Lion for Change at Cannes Lions.
