Gerety Talks will present a special edition titled “Advertising Photography,” bringing together three voices in contemporary image-making to discuss photography’s evolving role in creativity.
The series is produced alongside the Gerety Awards and features conversations with figures from the marketing and creative industries, with new episodes airing weekly.
The session will explore photography’s evolving role in creativity, from observational storytelling to crafted visual worlds and idea-led execution. According to organizers, the conversation will examine how photography continues to define the emotional impact of creative work.
The panel includes Karima Asaad, Patrice de Villiers and Lisa Carletta, each approaching the medium from a different angle spanning art, advertising and cultural storytelling. According to organizers, their work challenges polish, plays with perception and pushes beyond aesthetics to build meaning, tension and truth.
The three speakers will discuss how photography influences the way ideas are developed and experienced today, the role of craft in an increasingly fast-moving landscape, and how visual storytelling can move from being seen to being felt.
The special edition airs Tuesday, July 14, as part of the weekly Gerety Talks series, streaming at www.geretyawards.com/talks.
