Drop Zone, a new community platform designed for gamers, brands, and fans, has officially launched in the Philippines. The platform aims to connect gaming communities through youth-focused activities and partnerships.
Developed to empower the next generation of gamers, Drop Zone emphasizes Gen Z’s role in shaping gaming culture, with support from brand partners and marketing organizations. The initiative is rooted in collaboration with academic esports organizations and varsity teams.
Drop Zone’s first major initiative is a partnership with Campus Legends 2025, a collegiate esports tournament organized by C2E4 of Singapore. Now in its seventh season, Campus Legends has expanded to 11 ASEAN countries and is the only officially sanctioned collegiate esports competition recognized by each participating nation’s National Esports Federation.
The 2025 tournament features Street Fighter 6 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, offering student players the opportunity to represent their schools in a growing regional esports circuit. In the Philippines, Drop Zone hosted local qualifiers on October 4 at SM Cyberzone Makati. The event featured onsite matches where student gamers competed to secure their place in the finals.
Participating brands included SM Makati, PC Express, Fantech, LG, Oishi, Jollibee, Soy Bueno, Neozep Z+ Forte, Enervon Z+, Power Up Climbing Alabang, Enderun CrossFit, and Evervon.
At the conclusion of the event, the NU Bulldogs were named champions in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, while Jedhiel James S. Pasco won the Street Fighter 6 competition. Both will represent the Philippines at the Campus Legends Finals on November 1, 2025, in Singapore.
“We’re proud to carry not just our campus, but the whole Philippines in Campus Legends. We’re determined to show what true Pinoy talent is all about – and we’ll give our all to secure the championship,” said Coach Palacio of the NU Bulldogs.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent my country in Street Fighter 6 and compete against representatives from other countries. I’m really happy to showcase my abilities in the competition while also meeting new people along the way. Let’s have a nice game,” said Jedhiel James Pasco of De La Salle University.
