METT Singapore has officially opened its doors at Fort Canning Park, marking a fresh new chapter for the iconic property surrounded by nature. The launch is accompanied by a playful campaign film from creative agency Forsman & Bodenfors Singapore featuring an unlikely cast.
The short film tells a lighthearted story featuring a sunbed and a pool umbrella as central characters. The pair takes to the streets of Singapore and wanders through the greenery of Fort Canning Park, drawn to the “Simply Magnetic” METT Singapore.
As they move through the transformed property, the film offers glimpses of what awaits visitors at the hotel. The sunbed passes by L’Amo Bistrò del Mare, METT’s Italian coastal dining concept, while the pool umbrella explores the surroundings and interacts with staff.
The film concludes as the two characters reunite poolside against the Singapore skyline, closing with the message: “Some Places You Discover, Others Draw You In.”
An Instagram campaign supporting the campaign film launched just before, giving audiences a peek into the launch campaign with sightings of the sunbed and umbrella moving through popular spots in Singapore from Tiong Bahru to Lau Pa Sat.
The heritage-listed hotel property has been reimagined through a contemporary lens by acclaimed designer Jeffrey Wilkes, with 84 light-filled suites and rooms that offer the luxury of space. Soak up the sun with two sparkling outdoor pools, get active on the padel and pickleball courts, or at the fully equipped luxury gym fitted with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment.
“To us, METT Singapore is more than a place to stay. We approached this film the way we would a luxury brand, something that evoked a feeling,” said Michelle Co, Creative Director, Forsman & Bodenfors Singapore.
“In a world where advertising delves into inauthentic scenarios and CGI, we wanted to create a real moment. That meant tapping into creativity that was magnetic, memorable and effortlessly METT.”
“To truly capture a feeling of authenticity and real world charm; we doubled-down on classic human-powered technological craft,” said Joshua Tan, Senior Producer, Forsman & Bodenfors Singapore.
“We created custom built motorized chassis for our sunbed and pool umbrella, which were operated via three remote control units. No driving license required.”
