According to a new campaign, in the Philippines, a common household line about air-conditioning is used as the creative drive for a new CoCo Tea ad film that depicts air conditioners walking out during summer heat.
The line “Isara mo nga ‘yung pinto! Lalabas ‘yung aircon!” translates to “Close the door! The AC will go out!” While the phrasing suggests the air-conditioning unit might escape, it reflects the idea that cool air will go out.
However, the ad film takes this line literally by imagining a scenario in which air conditioners, described as overworked and pushed beyond their limits, stop cooling spaces and leave. Like, leave leave gone out the door leave.
The film presents CoCo Tea as a refresher for people and machines during the season, suggesting that if air conditioners turn to the drink, it demonstrates its purpose.
The campaign uses an air conditioner as the central figure to depict “cool down” as a response to heat and burnout.
The work was created by Gigil, and the spot was directed by Un Wuthisak Anarnkaporn of Factory01 in Thailand.
