Wunderman Thompson has made three appointments across technology and content with Hasan Hasnie, Geoff Smeaton, and Nicholas Yeam joining the regional leadership team.

Hasnie joins the agency as Chief Technology Officer after nearly 19 years in Digital & Technology Consulting at Accenture. Most recently as a Managing Director at Accenture Song, Hasnie led the architecture and delivery of complex digital platforms.

Hasnie said: “I am very happy to be joining Wunderman Thompson at this juncture of our growth journey. I hope to truly immerse myself in the exciting world of advertising, relying upon my experience of commerce and marketing technology delivery in a scaled and distributed fashion. We have amazing clients in diverse industries, and I hope to learn a lot from them as well as my talented and experienced colleagues at Wunderman Thompson.”

Wunderman Thompson Australia’s Chief Technology Officer, Geoff Smeaton, steps into an expanded role as Head of Technology for the region with a focus on delivery. He brings more than 20 years working in the IT industry across several different sectors and over 14 years working with e-commerce.

The hires are part of Wunderman Thompson’s regional strategy to continue to invest in deepening the agency’s technology capability across the region, the agency said adding that currently in Asia Pacific, Wunderman Thompson Technology is made up of 530 Engineers, 90 UX/UI Designers, 40 Data Specialists and 30 Consultants – all contributing to the 500 platforms the agency has built for brands globally, that have generated $29 billion in revenue for clients.

Smeaton added: “Being able to help our markets deliver world class technology solutions for clients across APAC is a fantastic challenge and opportunity for me to be taking on, alongside our fantastic team of leaders and practitioners all through the region.”

In addition, Nicholas Yeam has joined Wunderman Thompson in the position of Head of Content, APAC. He brings nearly a decade of experience in digital and content production, Nicholas joins the agency to lead and grow Wunderman Thompson Studios in the region – the digital and content production arm that runs and optimises marketing ecosystems for clients through a borderless network of global studios.

As Content Lead for APAC, Nicholas will continue to drive growth for Studios by delivering efficient and high-quality content solutions and operations for clients – bridging the gap between inspiration and execution for brands.

Prior to Wunderman Thompson, Yeam lead production and operations as Executive Producer at Huge and spent time at Media.Monks and Hogarth Worldwide. He’s built retained teams and operations for multiple FAANG clients while delivering large-scale experiential activations for the likes of SK-II.

“It’s an exciting time to be joining the team, as we’re observing a period of transformation in the content landscape,” said Yeam.

“There’s an ever-growing demand for scale, efficiency, and quality, and I’m confident that Wunderman Thompson’s borderless approach to production excellence will allow us to continue to meet and exceed the needs of our clients.”
