What do you do to pass the time on your break? While most people, well, you know, eat, or just collect their thoughts, the women featured in a new Coca-Cola summer campaign in India instead use their break time to ogle a handsome mural painter across the street played by Coca-Cola brand ambassador, Ranbir Kapoor.
Created by McCann Worldgroup India, the campaign features of an ad spot with the four women running to the window to lustfully watch Kapoor take a break – a daily ritual that they have even set an alarm on their phone for.
Hard to miss the sexual innuendo at the 40-second mark – but that could simply be a creepy interpretation from the mind-in-the-gutter members of our staff.
“The campaign is our attempt at encouraging people to reimagine what they could do to their daily dull moments with a Coke,” said Shrenik Dasani, VP – sparkling category, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia.
“We’ve been inspired by how teens think about their daily lives and, often with a Coke, how they effortlessly transform even dull moments into epic ones,” said Dasani. “While the age-old norm has been to take a pause during idle time, today’s teens are different. They’re not looking to contemplate, they’re looking to participate. They don’t want downtime, they want uptime. And rather than taking breaks once or twice a day, they are fluid, constantly on the move and shifting gears.”
