In a new campaign to summon a few tears from your eyes, Spark New Zealand has launched an ad film dubbed ‘Wedding Speech’ created by Colenso BBDO, as part of its Little Can Be Huge series.
The 90-second spot, directed by Finch’s Christopher Riggert, throws the spotlight on a father’s touching speech at his daughter’s wedding and the difficult months leading up to the event. The film’s reveal is that the voice of her father that we’ve heard over the course of the ad is actually being broadcast from his hospital bed courtesy of Spark.
To be honest, we were glad to see that dad was still alive and kicking – the build to the reveal had us a bit worried that it was going to turn out to be a recorded speech. Whew! Keep going, dad!
