Every driver remembers their first car. But Volkswagen India’s latest Children’s Day campaign suggests the journey begins long before that —with early sketches, toy cars, and imaginary races.
In a nod to childhood wonder, the brand poses a simple question: When does love for the drive begin? The campaign invites audiences to reflect on the origins of their fascination with cars, well before a license or a real vehicle ever entered the picture.
As the brand says, “Somewhere between your first toy car and your first test drive.”
Conceived by 22feet Tribal Worldwide, the campaign debuted through a written manifesto in leading automotive magazines. It extended to radio listeners across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai, as well as Spotify, offering a shared moment of nostalgia for car enthusiasts.
Volkswagen employees also participated by sharing stories of how their own passion for driving began. A short video compiled these recollections —from childhood toys and drawing books to first road trips— rekindling personal memories and shared emotions.
By transforming a simple question into a collective reflection, the campaign highlights the enduring joy that connects every driver back to the child who first imagined the open road.
