Volkswagen has launched a new ad in China starring Wu Jing, whose extensive resume includes being a writer, director, producer, martial artist, and action star, as well as being well-known for doing his own stunts.
But in a new two-minute stop created by Goodstein Wu Jing takes occupies the passenger seat while teaching an unassuming test driver to do his own stunts – which quickly evolves into an action-packed car chase.
“The campaign shows a more humorous side of Wu Jing, one that fits to Volkswagen’s trademark twinkle in the eye,” said Georg Warga, Goodstein Creative Director.
The film is part of an activation for a campaign that allows people to star alongside Wu Jing, through video apps and national test drive events.
“This is one of the first commercials to showcase Volkswagen’s new global vibrant power brand design in China,” said Baggio Song, Chief Strategy Officer at Inspire Communications Group.
