Cowra Tourism, in collaboration with Visual Domain, has launched a follow-up to its tourism campaign to ‘Get Chris to Cowra’, titled ‘A CHRISmas Miracle.’
All with a single goal in mind for the Central West NSW region: get Chris Hemsworth and his family to visit Cowra.
The spot unfolds with Cowra superfan, Jacob, reflecting on Hemsworth’s promise to visit and shares that the town’s Christmas wish that the Aussie legend will visit in time for Christmas.
There is a website dedicated to the cause with the headline getting straight to the point asking: “Where the bloody hell is he?”
“After what’s been a very difficult 12 months for our region, especially with the recent floods, it’s so great to be able to continue the Get Chris to Cowra Campaign this Christmas, showing off what our amazing region has to offer and letting our visitors and the big man Chris Hemsworth know we’re open and ready to welcome them to our amazing region,” said Kurt Overzet, tourism manager, Cowra Tourism Corporation.
On their YouTube page, the destination says: “This Christmas we continue our mission to Get Chris to Cowra, the charming, quintessential Aussie town in Central West NSW that’s got it all!”
The website is worth a browse with some fun attempts to tempt Hemsworth into visiting, including “The Big Chris” statue. That is if “enough marble exists globally to construct his mighty arms and chest.”

Lauren Burgueno, lead specialist creative producer added: “After the success of the Get Chris to Cowra campaign last year, we were really excited to have the opportunity to work with Cowra Tourism once again. We wanted to use the same humorous lens this time around and continue with one of the main characters from the initial campaign, but give it a new Christmasy twist.”
