Two Ads I Like and One I Don’t – David Joubert

How good is advertising? I honestly believe it is the best job in the world. There is nothing more satisfying than finding a way to make the seemingly impossible happen. Sure, we all have bad days but it only takes one good day to make it all worth it. Here are a couple of things I like.

Two Ads I Like

Orange – Content Battle

I love the simplicity of the idea and the complexity of the execution. A simple truth at the heart of the age-old battle for the remote control. Executed epically through multiple genres of film. Such fun to watch and crafted beautifully.


Apple at Work – The Underdogs

Absolutely love the storytelling in this film. You really get a sense of the struggle, pain, ambition and opportunity felt by the team in the film. The way the product is seamlessly integrated into the story is brilliant. The comedic timing is spot on as well. It’s just a joy to watch.

One I don’t like

Cadbury – Symbol for All

I am not a massive fan of brands attaching themselves to causes for the sake of it. And this is one that feels like it. While I think the initiative is important, I just feel the link to the brand is a bit heavy-handed and forced.
