With the New Year knocking at the door, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the lessons gained. The fresh start invites us to embrace challenges as opportunities, turning the obstacles of the past year into stepping stones for growth in the year to come.
As part of our annual series, we invite industry leaders to share three trends they believe will shape 2025, highlight key moments from the past year, and discuss what stood out—both the good and the not-so-good.
Next, we hear from Jason Tee, Head of People & Culture, GrowthOps Asia, as he reflects on the past year, looks ahead to 2025, and shares the outcome of his 2024 New Year’s resolution.
Looking Ahead
What are three trends to look for in the coming year?
In 2025, I’m optimistic about our company continuing the momentum toward Human-Centric Workplaces, prioritizing well-being, genuine flexibility, and career growth.
With burnout and retention challenges front and center in 2024, I expect our organization to take proactive steps toward fostering a healthier work environment.
This includes rethinking productivity approaches and establishing clearer boundaries for work-life balance.
Looking Back
What was your favorite trend of 2024?
A key trend in 2024 was the slightly elevated turnover rate, which highlighted the need to empower employees in shaping their own growth paths and ensure their voices are heard.
Encouraging open, meaningful 1:1 conversations with their direct leaders is essential, along with encouraging our people to connect with HR for additional support if they feel their needs aren’t being fully addressed by their direct leaders.
Your least favorite trend of 2024:
The normalization of excessive multitasking, which often led to burnout. It undervalued the importance of focused, meaningful work and employee well-being
What was your 2024 New Year’s Resolution and did you keep it?
Prioritize well-being—by creating a better balance between work and self-care. I’m proud to say I stayed committed to it!
