India’s oldest bubblegum brand Boomer has returned with its “Boom Boom Boomer” jingle for a series of new ads.
The Mars Wrigley-owned gum partnered with DDM Mudra North to create three comical spots where the popping of a bubble gum bubble brings about miraculous changes including bringing a pet goldfish back to life, restoring grandpa’s hair and causing muscles to suddenly droop on an amateur bodybuilder.
“Boomer has, over the years, become a favorite for our consumers in India,” said Yogesh Tewari, Marketing Director, Mars Wrigley. “With the tag line of ‘BOOM MACHA DE’ and the famous ‘BOOM BOOM BOOMER’ tune built upon the concept of nostalgia, we are confident that our consumers will enjoy the films as much as they love the product. Mars Wrigley enjoys a loyal fanbase and with these light-hearted films, we hope to celebrate the love and joy associated with the brand.”
Rahul Mathew, Chief Creative Officer, DDB Mudra Group added: “It’s not always that you work on a brand that has such strong and memorable associations. We wanted to make sure that our work reinforces these associations in a way that it appeals to today’s youngsters. And, of course, do it in a way that brings alive the fun and quirky nature of the brand.”
