Thai Teens Not at All Impressed With Your Marketing in Funny New Ad Within an Ad

Clean & Clear has partnered with BBDO Bangkok to create a clever ad within an ad that captures the frustration teens feel that no one gets them. Their parents, their teachers and, in this case brands, that have no idea how teens think and feel.

The ad within an ad kicks off with a colorful “cool” street style, slang, and rap music theme that the brand thinks will appeal to the target market of teens looking to rid themselves of pimples an oily skin.

Nope.

 
 

The funny cutaways to Two Thai students watching the ad on a park bench are the anchor of the spot’s humorous touch.

 

 
 

“Let’s not pretend that we understand this new generation of kids and admit that we don’t, by making an ad that doesn’t understand them at all. Thai teenagers love brands that speak sincerely to them, who aren’t afraid to make fun of themselves,” said Thasorn Boonyanate, Chief Creative Officer at BBDO Bangkok.

The film was done with Salmon House, known for previous work like “Family gathering”.
