Following a previous dual, bestselling novelist Stephen King and Elon Musk are going back and forth again this time with King poking fun at the exodus of advertisers, tweeting: “Pretty soon the only advertiser left on Twitter will be My Pillow.”
Pretty soon the only advertiser left on Twitter will be My Pillow.
— Stephen King (@StephenKing) November 22, 2022
The tweet refers to the company owned by the sometimes out-there “MyPillow Guy” Mike Lindell, who, among other things, still holds to the conspiracy theory that the 2020 election was rigged and Donald Trump should be president.
Musk didn’t take the bait and instead took a light-hearted approach to King’s joust.
Is My Pillow actually a great pillow? Now I’m curious.

Round Two
King and Musk’s previous dual on Twitter came back on October 31 when King tweeted, $20 a month to keep my blue check? Fuck that, they should pay me. If that gets instituted, I’m gone like Enron.”
We need to pay the bills somehow! Twitter cannot rely entirely on advertisers. How about $8?
