Wise marketers at any global chain know the importance of putting a local twist on a global product. In South Korea Burger King has taken the iconic Whopper and put large shrimp on top of the hamburger patty.
The Shrimp Whopper, which was released earlier this year in South Korea, takes an original Whopper, sans ketchup, and adds a layer of whole shrimp and a spicy tomato sauce. There is also a “surf and turf” version that replaces the hamburger patty with a slab of steak.
We haven’t tried it yet but it looks awesome.
The spot stars South Korean actor, Lee Jung-jae, and was created by Cheil Worldwide.
