Sarah McLachlan Spoofs Herself in Super Bowl Ad for Busch Light

Sarah McLachlan is spoofing her animal rights PSAs in a funny Busch Light Super Bowl commercial. She is not someone you expected to see when the 30-second ad film kicks off in the picturesque wilderness with the brand’s rugged mascot “Busch Guy” offering survival skills by instructing viewers on the importance of finding shelter. In this case, a good tent.

The spot, done with Martin Agency and PrettyBird, cuts to Sarah McLachlan huddled in the tent, as the melody from her iconic 2007 song “Angel,” begins to play in the background. “Hello, I am Sarah McLachlan. For just dollars a day, you can help helpless animals find shelter.”

Busch Guy quickly cuts in on the ethereal moment with the crack of a beer being opened before telling McLachlan this is not the type of shelter he’s referring to and letting her know that she is in fact cuddling up next to a wolf.


 

“Busch Light fans will love our spin on Sarah McLachlan’s iconic commercial as they always appreciate a bit of humor that ultimately serves a good cause – especially when it comes to great outdoors we both hold dear,” said Krystyn Stowe, Head of Marketing Busch Family & Natural Family at Anheuser-Busch.

As part of the campaign, Busch Light will donate $25,000 to One Tree Planted, in an effort to restore forests, create habitats for biodiversity and make a positive social impact around the world, the brand said.
