Despite the ongoing global recall of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung’s flagship Samsung Galaxy brand was #1 on the list of top 100 Korean brands for the third quarter of this year.

According to Korean research firm Brand Stock, which conducts studies on the nation’s 1,000 brands in 230 sectors, Samsung Galaxy was first on the Brand Stock Top Index, followed by Shinsegae-owned retailer, E-Mart and mobile messaging app KakaoTalk.
Brand Stock attributes the intense brand loyalty to Samsung to its quick reaction following the battery issue.
Lotte plunges
Lotte Department Store, a retail chain unit of Lotte Group whose owning family is currently entangled in legal troubles, dropped to 16th from 8th in the previous quarter. The entire product line suffered from said the report with Lotte affiliates from their rental car service to its fast food chain, dropping in ranking over from last quarter.
