Red Dot Design Museum Essen Opens Exhibition of Awarded Design Projects from 39 Countries

Works on display from 27 February to 31 May 2026 include INNOCEAN Korea’s campaign marking Hyundai’s 100 millionth vehicle and Pollinate Labs, a Mumbai studio whose logo translates a bee’s flight into visual movement.

The Red Dot Design Museum Essen is presenting “World’s Best Communication Design 2025” from 27 February to 31 May 2026, featuring more than 800 awarded brand and communication design projects from 39 countries.

The exhibition brings together printed works, objects and digital applications in a curated selection. Brand books can be browsed, packaging designs are presented as physical objects, while moving image and online projects are shown on screens. The projects are presented within a shared framework that shows the breadth of brand and communication design.

International agencies appear alongside regional studios, while established brands appear alongside emerging initiatives. Different design approaches and visual languages appear in direct juxtaposition.

All works on display were awarded in the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2025 and were selected for presentation in the museum.

The exhibition includes Pollinate Labs from Mumbai, whose logo translates a bee’s flight into a visual movement, and the visual identity of Eindhoven University of Technology by CLEVER°FRANKE. It also includes the international campaign “One Step Further”, with which INNOCEAN Korea marked Hyundai’s 100 millionth vehicle.

Projects with a social dimension are also included. “Rainbow Wool” by Serviceplan Germany develops a product line from the previously underused wool of homosexual rams, combining economic initiative with a social stance.

“The Revived,” developed by the Peter Schmidt Group in collaboration with Brand Ukraine and TEAMBBDO Germany, is an AI-based campaign that honours athletes who lost their lives as a result of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Using artificial intelligence, the project restores visibility to these individuals and addresses the anonymity that can accompany large-scale tragedy.

In the museum’s boiler hall, the brand identity of “GhostNetZero” introduces the section dedicated to the Red Dot: Agency of the Year 2025, Accenture Song.

The presentation includes GhostNetZero, an AI-powered platform for locating and recovering ghost nets from the oceans, and OpenAI’s first television commercial, which premiered during the Super Bowl 2025.

Accenture Song also created the exhibition’s key visual, which references the cover of the International Yearbook Brands & Communication Design 2025/2026.
