Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor has been named to Travel + Leisure’s ‘500 Best Hotels’ list for a fifth consecutive year, with the recognition appearing in the magazine’s May edition. The 94-year-old hotel is located near Cambodia’s ancient Khmer archaeological sites in Siem Reap.
“Being recognised by Travel + Leisure is a celebration not just of our hotel, but of the enduring spirit of Siem Reap. As custodians of this iconic landmark, we feel a deep responsibility to our community,” said Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor General Manager Joseph Colina.
“Through initiatives like our ‘Grand Path of History’ and our newly launched book, A Tale of Two Hotels, we aim to bridge the gap between our guests and the true soul of Cambodia – ensuring that every visitor leaves with a profound respect for the heritage that makes this city the heart of the Kingdom,” Colina added.
Earlier this year, the hotel unveiled the ‘Grand Path of History,’ a permanent exhibition featuring rare photographs, video footage, architectural drawings, and vintage artifacts tracing what the hotel describes as a golden age of travel in Southeast Asia. A companion history book, A Tale of Two Hotels: Raffles in Cambodia, presents the property alongside its sister hotel, Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh.
Both the tour and the book focus on international travel during the years 1900 to 1940, a period the hotel connects to figures such as the Sarkies brothers in Singapore, whose Raffles brand it describes as having represented luxury travel for nearly 140 years.
