R/GA Creates Stage-Inspired Identity for One Day

Creative company R/GA has rebranded Australian record label One Day, delivering a new identity that includes a logo, art direction, a motion design system, a website, and a narrative film.

The motion design system was developed with motion studio Never Sit Still and is built around the feeling of performing in front of a packed crowd — lights up, fans moving, the energy of a full house. The system produces light patterns that react to music, alongside a logo countdown timed to the moment of an artist’s breakthrough.

“Ultimately, the rebrand puts these dreams literally up in lights, sending an aspirational signal to the industry, artists, and fans that One Day is on a mission to help amplify Australia’s emerging talent,” said R/GA.

“One Day is a force for voices that want to be felt as much as they’re heard. The brand we’ve built honours and creates space for artists’ dreams, in all their glory,” said Jane Duru, Creative Director at R/GA.

“There is a natural tension today between the science of breaking an artist and the raw emotion of their music,” said Ben Miles, Chief Design Officer, APAC at R/GA.

“One Day stands firmly behind the artists who dig deeper, embrace imperfection and find joy in the craft and the chaos. In a world increasingly run by predictability, this brand is a reminder that realness can’t be automated.”

“Our strategy was built on the reality that the path to success in Australia has never been more difficult. Our idea was simple: every artist has a ‘One Day.’ We turned that into a verbal system where they name their dream out loud,” said Henry Cook, Creative Director at R/GA.

“Visually, we captured the feeling of performing in front of a packed-out crowd, echoing the glow of fans’ phones lighting up as they record their favourite moment.”

“This is what we’ve always been about, identifying talent, helping artists develop their voice and amplifying their stories. Working with the team at R/GA has been a transformative experience by giving us a visual and verbal language that matches the ambition we have for our artists,” said Nick Lupi, co-founder, One Day.

One Day, now backed by EMI/Universal Music Australia, was originally formed as an artist collective before becoming an events brand and transitioning eight years ago into talent management and artist development under co-founders Nick Lupi and Adit Gauchan.

In 2024, Lupi and Gauchan launched One Day Recordings, a record label in partnership with EMI Music Australia, part of the Universal Music family. One Day’s management roster includes 18YOMAN, J Emz (ONEFOUR), tiffi, Chillinit, and LEN20.
