As part of a campaign commemorating the International Day of Peace this week, Vietnam-based restaurant chain Pizza 4P’s has partnered with Ki Saigon to combine the ingredients of nations in conflict to create ‘Peace Pizzas’. The idea is that if you can combine the tastes of these countries in harmony on a pizza, then you can do so in the world.
The project was completed over several months, reports Campaign Brief Asia, with chefs Shotaro Hirukawa & Natsumi Kobayashi working with the Ki Saigon team to create three individual ‘Peace Pizzas’ highlighting the Israeli-Palestine conflict, India-Pakistan, and the increasing rumblings between the United States and China.
According to the brand on their Facebook page, they created 27 unique handmade flower blossoms within each pizza box, “celebrating peace and tranquility.” Each flower combines the colors of the flags of each of the participants in conflict.
Campaign Brief Asia reports that as part of the campaign 250 of the specially-designed boxes were displayed as an art piece titled ‘garden of peace’ at one of the Pizza4P’s venues, which is holding a one-week event to celebrate ‘peace week’ with all of the proceeds from the sale of the peace pizzas to go to the UN Peace Building Fund.
