This week its Madhurya Alankaar, Group Head for creative at Geometry Encompass network in Mumbai.
After a string of non-ad world creative gigs, including Radio Jockey, and an actor in a feature film, Alankaar joined the creative team at Geometry Encompass – after first getting his foot in the door working on the client service side at Soho Square in Mumbai.

How did you get your first break in the industry?
I am an IT Engineer who followed his heart, became a Radio Jockey, acted as a lead in a feature film and finally chose to do Client Servicing in Advertising. But I consider my first break to be the shift to a Creative role at Geometry Encompass after getting shortlisted at Young Spikes, 2017.
What is your personal mantra?
Justify the MAD in MADhurya or my eke-name MADdy.
From what person, place, or thing have you drawn your greatest creative inspiration?
Stan Lee inspires me to believe that all you need is one powerful idea and the world will have its superheroes!
What do you love about the job?
I love how every day is a new challenge! Every brand brings with it a world of opportunities and possibilities to reinvent. One day, you are helping consumers upgrade their life and the next day, challenging social norms.
What about your job are you not so crazy about?
Making logos bigger, headlines simpler, CTA longer and taking feedbacks on feedback that there are some more feedbacks.
What is some work you’ve done that you’re most proud of?
Brooke Bond Red Label – #ShreeGaneshApnepanKa.
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi (a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of God Ganesha), we questioned deep-rooted human prejudices and encouraged people to open their minds and break invisible walls. The campaign is being recognized as top ads of 2018 by multiple platforms and has just won the “Best Campaign of the Year” at CNBC IBLA 2019.

Going beyond usual donation drives, we created a unique pop-up retail shopping experience for the children at the orphanage. Offering them to choose for the first-time clothes of their choice, we added some Merry to their Christmas in 2018.
