It’s fair to say that housing the largest population in the world, China tends to lean toward doing everything on a big scale.
And so it goes with a new Nike campaign launched in Hong Kong featuring five female athletes including record-holding high jumper Cecilia Yeung displayed on a massive billboard as part of a pitch calling on women to live life on their own terms and be themselves.
The campaign draws inspiration from the life stories of five athletes, along with Yeung (楊文蔚) there is with tennis star Li Na (李娜), fighter Cai Zong ju(蔡宗菊) world-record rower Kung Fu Cha-Cha(功夫茶茶), and basketball star Shao Ting (邵婷).
Nike released photos of billboards featuring Yeung and they are, well… gigormous.
The OOH campaign has been rolled out on the Chinachem Century Tower, which is located directly opposite of the Wan Chai Sports Ground.
The significance of the location is big for Yeung as the sports venue where she attained many high jump milestones. She said it also holds significance for many athletes.
“I believe every Hong Kong athlete begins their journey here at the Wan Chai Sports Ground,” she said.
