Where the kawaii world of arcade photo booths collides with home furnishing solutions.
To promote the opening of their location in Shibuya, IKEA Japan and with Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo have partnered to create the IKEA original photo booth, promoted by the brand’s own soft toys.
The arcade photo booths combine the standard passport photo machine with an arcade video game. IKEA has created a different take on the Kawaii photo experience by giving a photo booth the home furnishing treatment allowing users to step inside a PAX Wardrobe on the 6th floor of IKEA Shibuya and create something unique.
The Fotobox is open to the public as a permanent installation only at IKEA Shibuya. Taking photos in the Fotobox and downloading the final results are all free of charge.
The Fotobox is promoted by ‘Night At The Fotobox’, a film that brings IKEA’s soft toy range to life.
