As some will attest, feminine products dealing with menstruation might be a bit lacking in their reflection of reality. With this in mind, BBDO Malaysia has created a campaign for Feminine hygiene company Libresse that takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to such ads by mocking the stereotypes.
BBDO Malaysia’s executive creative director VJ Anand told Eleanor Dickinson at Mumbrella: “The campaign came together following a workshop we did with Libresse, where we watched all the previous sanitary towels commercials and everyone came to the same conclusion that they all sounded the same.”
Anand also said that the Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui’s comments about how her performance was affected by her period were partly an inspiration for the campaign.
