Lloyds Bank Launches ‘Running of the Horses’ Campaign Spot in New Zealand

Adam & Eve/DDB has shot a new campaign for Lloyds Bank called “Running of the Horses” which was shot on New Zealand’s South Island.

The spot is a tad confusing. Granted, an equine is Lloyds’ logo, but we’re not sure what wild horses running down the beach, suddenly tame and friendly to a crowd of onlookers, has to do with banking. Is it a metaphor for taming interest rates, skyrocketing debt or ATM fees?

At any rate, it sure is a nicely filmed piece of work.

The seven-day shoot was directed by Pulse’s Sam Piling, while Dean Rogers photographed the stills campaign. The spot is set to an emotive cover of the Olive song, You’re Not Alone, recorded by Astraea.

“We’re stoked to be a part of such a cool and creative project, especially on our beautiful local shores,” Noonan commented.

The ad will run across TV, cinema, digital, social, outdoor and print in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
