Wunderman Thompson Malaysia has named Kit Ong Executive Creative Director. Previously Ong held senior positions as the Chief Creative Officer of The Purpose Group in Saigon and as Creative Partner of LogicIllogic in Shanghai.
His work spans a number of global brands including Budweiser, Land Rover, HSBC, Procter & Gamble, Red Bull, Fonterra, Burger King and many others across a diverse range of categories.
Ong has also spent time as a filmmaker. His feature ‘The Flowers Beneath My Skin’ is one of Malaysia’s only silent feature films.
“The experience of helping brands thrive in a data-driven e-commerce world as fast-paced as that of China and Vietnam, is immensely useful back home in Malaysia,” said Ong.
“It is a time unlike any other with the pandemic changing the norms of social and business. At Wunderman Thompson, there are four behaviors we live and work by: ‘in it together’; ‘creative bravery’; ‘positivity’; and ‘listening’. These four behaviors form the best offence against the challenges that we face today, and I am excited to be part of this team,” added Ong.
Ong has served on the juries of the Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia, AdStars, and Cresta to name a few.
“Kit is the perfect fit for Wunderman Thompson Malaysia as we look towards deliver growth for our clients. 2021 will see us delivering exciting new solutions that challenges marketing conventions, rooted in our expertise of creativity, technology and data,” said Wunderman Thompson Malaysia Managing Director Patrick Yap of the new appointment.
