‘Jingle Butts’ Ad for Colon Cancer Causes a bit of a Stink

When an ad for charity comes with a disclaimer, it’s likely you’re about to watch something interesting.

We present you with… “Jingle Butts.”

Creative agency, Zulu Alpha Kilo, maker of last month’s viral “Say No to Spec”, wrote this disclaimer on their YouTube page:

“Warning: this video is intended for mature audiences only. We realize not everyone shares our sense of humour.”

We, however, approve.

The “cheeky” video is in support of Colon Cancer Canada and features renowned Spanish percussionist Jorge Perez from the jazz-fusion band PATAX. Check it out:

As you more than likely guessed, the agency has gotten some slack over their creative endeavor, with critics on social media calling the video insulting and misogynist.

‘Funny that you’re donating to colon cancer bc this is utter s**** (sic)’. ‘Not edgy, not clever, not funny, just insulting,’ wrote one Twitter user.

One guy was so upset he blamed AdWeek magazine for writing a story about it.

Zulu Alpha Kilo’s response to the backlash? Here’s the statement they sent to AdWeek:

“Zulu has always been committed to supporting charitable causes and making contributions important to our team. In order to stay true to who we are as a company, we often do this in a cheeky and memorable way. The intent of this year’s holiday video is to show our support to Colon Cancer Canada. We assure you we are ‘equal bum opportunists.’ The video features both male and female models.”

So, what about Colon Cancer Canada? What’s their reaction? Considering the organization’s slogan is “We’re behind your behind,” we’re guessing it’s all good with them.

And a Merry Christmas to All.
