The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) has unveiled ‘Ink Doesn’t Lie’, a print campaign that centers on the credibility of print media. The campaign was conceptualized by BBDO India, part of Omnicom Advertising India.
According to the release, the campaign reinforces the role of print as a source of verified, contextual and credible information at a time when misinformation, manipulated content and AI-generated news have made it difficult to distinguish fact from fabrication.
The campaign draws on the insight that while people consume information everywhere, they seek certainty from sources they trust, and that newspapers and magazines are valued not because they are first, but because they are accurate, according to the release.
The print executions are centered around the metaphor of an oath – an oath to report nothing but the truth, an oath to trust what is printed in ink. Each execution highlights the effort behind every printed page, including reporters who verify, editors who question, photographers who witness events first-hand, and the press that prints only after facts have been established.
“In an age dominated by screens, social media, and constant digital chatter, the resilience and relevance of print media is truly remarkable,” said Vivek Gupta, President, Indian Newspaper Society.
“Across this vast and diverse nation, the printed word continues to hold a unique and irreplaceable position as we are not just carriers of information; we are the institutions that inform, educate, and empower the public at large. We are witnesses to history, active participants in democracy, and trusted companions in the daily lives of millions of readers. As we look to the future, it is clear that print will continue to evolve, adapt, and innovate. However, its core values – credibility, inclusivity, depth, and responsibility will always remain unchanged. These are not just attributes; they are the very foundation upon which the trust of millions of its readers is built.”
“In an age of infinite information, trust has become our scarcest resource,” said Josy Paul, CCO, BBDO Group and Chairperson, BBDO India.
“There’s something about the printed word that carries the weight of questions asked, facts verified and responsibility accepted. ‘Ink Doesn’t Lie’ celebrates the quiet courage of print that chooses verification over virality and truth over speed, every single day. A reminder that trust is journalism’s greatest invention – printed with the ink of integrity.”
INS represents the newspaper and magazine industry in India, with a network of more than 800 national and regional newspapers and magazines.
