The International Advertising Association Malaysia (IAA Malaysia) will hold the next edition of its Education Series, titled “Creative Intelligence, Learnings from the Cannes Festival of Creativity 2025 and the Power of AI for Growth,” on Tuesday, August 5, in Kuala Lumpur.
The workshop has attracted significant attention within Malaysia’s marketing and communications industry. Registrations have surpassed 200 participants, more than doubling the initial estimate, according to the organization.
“The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity is the world’s most prestigious event celebrating creative excellence in advertising, marketing, and communications. Held annually in Cannes, France, it brings together global leaders from brands, agencies, media companies, tech platforms, and the wider creative industries and beyond,” said John D. Chacko, President of IAA Malaysia and Global Vice President of IAA for Education.
“For those who couldn’t be there, we’re bringing the essence of Cannes home to you. This workshop is your opportunity to unpack the key insights, trends, and bold ideas that defined Cannes Lions 2025—and explore how they can inspire growth and transformation right here in Malaysia.”
Featured sessions include:
- Creative Impact Unpacked—Ed Pank, SVP Lions APAC
- The Journey to Be a Winner at Cannes— Jiro Murayama, Group Creative Director, Dentsu Inc.
- IAA’s Key Learnings from Cannes— Dr Milan Agnihotri, Head of Growth and Strategy, Dentsu Malaysia
- A Jury Member’s Perspective— Salim Mohamed, Head of Growth, Dentsu Malaysia

The event will conclude with a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Ed Pank, featuring Cannes jurors and winners: Su Ling Chan (MBCS), Joyce Lim (Heineken Malaysia), Jiro Murayama, and Salim Mohamed.
“It’s been a milestone year for us, building on the success of the 45th IAA World Congress in Penang, which continues to earn international acclaim. To reinforce our momentum, we’ve realigned our Executive Committee portfolios to include Education, Awards, and Corporate Relations/Branding—strengthening our focus on internationality, creativity, innovation, inclusivity, and collaboration,” added Chacko.
