Focusing on the Northern, Southern and Western regions, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, famous for Radisson hotels, announced that it plans to open at least 170 properties in India within 5 years. This was announced by Raj Rana, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group CEO for South Asia.
As of the moment, there are 71 hotels operating and 41 are undergoing developments located in 45 Indian cities.
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group recently launched in India their ‘Radisson Red’ hotel brand. This brand is an upscale lifestyle one and is part of the group’s expansion plans for the country.
“The economic outlook is optimistic and the demand for rooms in India has been growing by double-digit percentages over the past decade and this is expected to continue for the next few years,” said Rana. “Domestic travel is growing and international arrivals are on the increase. This is a market that is prime for our Radisson Red brand, which is positioned to address the needs of savvy travellers, while meeting the expectations of bottom line-focused owners.”
The world’s first Radisson Red hotel was signed in China last October 2014. While in India, the Radisson Red is planned to be built in cities like Ahmedabad, Benguluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Lucknow and Mumbai.
In addition, destinations like Goa, Jaipur, Katra (J&K), Shirdi and Tirupati are also being looked into. By 2020, Carlson Rezidor plans to have 60 Radisson Red hotels worldwide.
