Honda, along with creative agency Dentsu, Tokyo, Japan, has put together a colorful, quasi-psychedelic video and accompanying booklet with some funky illustrations –including a 2-page x-ray spread of a stuffed bear named “Margaret”.
It’s a fun piece of work. And, as an owner of a used, Honda Civic beater in the throes of my youth, it actually stirred some nice memories. Mission accomplished, Dentsu.
The one and half minute clip called “Honda. Beautiful Engines” opens with the text:
In 1946, a little engine inspired a big idea.
“Let’s use this to power a bicycle,” said Soichiro Honda
In that moment, Honda Motor Company was born.
The clip was used as the opening film at Honda’s booth for The 28th São Paulo International Automobile Show.
