Virginia Hyland has been appointed CEO of Havas Media Group Australia following the acquisition of her independent media agency, Hyland, earlier this year.
Matt Houltham, the acting CEO, will step down after less than a year in the role. Hyland will work alongside the senior leadership team to develop and advance strategic planning of media offerings across New Zealand and Australia.
“In acquiring Virginia’s market-leading independent media agency, there’s incredible momentum in our team and with clients,” Havas Group ANZ chairman Anthony Freedman says.
“Virginia is an impressive industry leader and entrepreneur, so we are excited about her taking the helm of our media business as it builds scale.”
Hyland’s independent agency was launched in 2005. With the acquisition by Havas, she brought over Etihad, Kitchen Aid and Deliveroo amongst others. “We are already seeing the power of bringing diverse talent together to create more dynamic solutions for clients,” said Hyland.
“I am excited about shaping the next chapter for the media business with innovation at its core.
