GlaxoSmithKline Shifts Ayeza Sumsam to Brand Activation

Three years of loyalty have paid off for Ayeza Sumsam, named today as the brand activation manager for the skin healthcare portfolio for GlaxoSmithKline’s consumer healthcare division. This represents a role change, not a promotion, in which Ayeza has been charged with a new portfolio to handle in the capacity of a Brand Manager.

Ayeza Sumsam joined the British pharmaceutical company in October three years ago as an assistant brand manager for the pain relief category. GlaxoSmithKline’s “Panadol” brand is currently the OTC market leader for pain relief in Pakistan.

In October 2015, she was promoted to a Brand Activation role for Global Power Brands namely Panadol and Voltral Emulgel. She was charged with tracking Brand Health Parameters such as Pricing, Distribution, and Top-Of-Mind Brand Awareness to ensure better positioning and brand optimization of the Company’s Brands.

A marketing graduate from the Class of 2013 at the Institute of Business Administration, Ayeza Sumsam was recently a recipient of the GlaxoSmithKline Recognition Award for demonstrating “Exceptional Integrity” last year.

This marks her fourth career role to date and the second employer over a four year career.

As brand activation leader for GlaxoSmithKline’s skin healthcare brands, Ayeza Sumsam will be tasked to grow mindshare for medicated skin products recommended by dermatologists, as well as specific treatments for cold sores, itchy skin and athlete’s foot.
