Aussie musician G Flip is great with traditional drumsticks, and apparently, drumsticks of the chicken variety as well, whipping out a high-energy solo using KFC’s Original Recipe drumsticks. It’s part of a new campaign via Special Australia announcing the arrival of the Colonel on Uber Eats.

In the 45-second spot, we see G Flip receive an Uber Eats delivery before laying down an epic drum solo with the drumsticks. You can even see the crumbs flying off on the cymbal crash – looks pretty real to us.

“We’re pumped to have KFC available on Uber Eats and we’re thrilled to be partnering with an artist of G Flip’s character and quality,” said Andy Morley, director of marketing ANZ, Uber Eats.

“They’re not just a sublime musical talent but also a genuine fan of Uber Eats. We’ve been hoping to link up with them for some time – this was the perfect way to do it.”

Says Sarah Parris, creative director, Special added: “Announcing KFC is finally on Uber Eats is a simple message that just needed a bold execution to bring the two brands’ personalities together. Playing the drums with KFC Drumsticks seemed to offer the perfect amount of unconventional charm, energy and drama.”

Special worked closely with KFC’s creative agency, Ogilvy on the campaign.
