Each week, we spotlight five ads that stood out. Some win us over with bold ideas, others with standout craft, powerful messaging, or sheer originality—and a few we just can’t explain. We just like them.

This week’s picks include a playful Rakshabandhan campaign that puts a price on sibling love, Singapore’s first “legal” chewing gum, a basement-bound husband on the hunt for better insurance rates, Thailand’s mockumentary ode to ratings, and a striking call for public vigilance against terror threats in Singapore.

Rakshabandhan has long been a high-activity moment in Indian e-commerce, with brands competing on price, speed, and generic gifting. Flipkart’s latest campaign shifts the focus from discounts to what really matters – the bond between siblings and the love they share. Campaign created by DDB Mudra Group.

BBH Singapore – ‘Unthinkables’ Chewing Gum for a Country That Banned Chewing Gum

For those who didn’t know: Chewing gum is famously banned in Singapore. To celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday, BBH Singapore has created what may be the nation’s first legal chewing gum alternative.

Budget Direct – ‘Mancave Save’ Basement Mystery

Budget Direct’s latest film paints a wryly funny picture of a man searching for better rates on his current insurance — and never returning. Developed by 303 MullenLowe Sydney, it features regulars Sarge, Jacs, and Chief investigating his mysterious disappearance.

Five Star Chicken – ‘Death of a Salesman’

BBDO Bangkok’s mockumentary “Death of a Salesman” humorously spotlights Thailand’s fascination with online ratings. The four-minute film follows a street vendor pitching everyday items with the same fervor as Five Star Chicken, underlining the brand’s promise.

SGSecure – SGSecure Vigilance Films

The Ministry of Home Affairs and VML Singapore have launched short social films urging public vigilance against the threat of terrorism. Each film starts in an everyday moment before taking a sharp turn, showing that attacks can happen anytime, anywhere.
