Fred Schebesta Talks Cryptocurrency and’s Expansion into Asia

Branding in Asia caught up with Fred Schebesta for a conversation last month in Indonesia at Socialbakers’ Engage Bali conference.

Along with being one of Australia’s most celebrated young entrepreneurs, author, digital marketer and media commentator, Schebesta is the co-founder and global CEO of comparison website – which is celebrating its ninth year with an expansion into Asia.

The site, which “helps people make better decisions”, currently pulls in over six million visitors per month across 10 markets including the United States, Canada, the UK, Mexico, Spain, Chile, Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand.


Schebesta established himself as a gifted entrepreneur early on, starting his business career at 22 when he and partner Frank Restuccia created the digital marketing agency, Freestyle Media – which was eventually sold for $1.36 million in 2007.

It was not long after that the building of began which led not only to financial success but Schebesta being named 2017 EY Australian Entrepreneur of the Year in the Services Category.
