E-commerce brand Flipkart is taking Big Billion Days to Kolkata’s streets with ‘Kothaye Jaabe Dada?’, an activation built around BBD Bagh and the city’s bus culture.
The activation draws on the familiarity of BBD Bagh, formerly known as Dalhousie Square, and the city buses that have the area as a destination. Flipkart is placing Big Billion Days messaging on select buses traveling to and through BBD Bagh, as well as on bus tickets.
The tickets carry Big Billion Days offers and QR codes that passengers can scan to explore the sale. The activation also brings Flipkart’s ‘Luck Badal Sakta Hai, Yahan Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’ proposition to the city’s streets.
The idea extends to a film centered on a Kolkata bus conductor and his longstanding association with the BBD Bagh route. The film follows him from his first day on the bus to years of calling out “BBD! BBD!” across Kolkata’s streets.
When Big Billion Days arrives, the film reinterprets the call, with BBD becoming a signal for festive offers rather than only a destination. The film also features offer-led bus tickets, passenger interactions, and route-style announcements.
The film has been conceptualized by Talented and Production House – Calm Kaam.
