Edelman Shakes Things up in Indonesia and Malaysia

Edelman has made some changes to its leadership in Malaysia and Indonesia, naming Raymond Siva CEO of Edelman Indonesia, effective September 1st. Siva, currently managing director of Edelman Malaysia, will now lead the firm’s office in Jakarta.

Edelman also announced that Robert Kay, current managing director of Leo Burnett Malaysia, has been named to succeed Siva as CEO of Edelman Malaysia

Both Siva and Kay will report to Iain Twine, who heads up Edelman Southeast Asia and Australasia.

The transfer of Siva to Indonesia marks the end of a four-year run by Stephen Lock, current CEO of Edelman Indonesia and head of Southeast Asia public affairs.

Prior to Leo Burnett in Malaysia, Kay worked as account leader for Saatchi & Saatchi in both the UK and Australia as well as serving as managing director for TBWA in Abu Dhabi.

Iain Twine had praise for Siva’s time in Malaysia.

“Over the course of Siva’s five-year tenure, the Malaysia operation has grown sevenfold in terms of revenue and staff has more doubled,” said Twine.

Siva spoke optimistically about his move to Jakarta.

“I am thrilled and energised by the opportunity to build on the great success of Edelman in the Indonesia market,” said Siva.

“Evolving it into a leading communications marketing firm will require nurturing and attracting the smartest talent across diverse backgrounds that will allow our clients to excel.”

Kay said he looks to build Edelman grassroots credibility.

“As an independent firm, there are no boundaries to what Edelman can do. I see my role as building on Edelman’s instincts and grassroots credibility with the science and rigor of my marketing background to enhance the work we do for our clients.”

Edelman ranks as the world’s largest PR firm, with more than 5000 employees in 65 cities around the world.
