The Thai Health Promotion Foundation has released a new spot aiming to dissuade Thai’s from gifting friends or family alcohol.
For years, the group has presented an anti-alcohol campaign to make their message heard. This year’s spot, created by Leo Burnett Group Thailand, features a motley crew of employees scheming together to come up with the perfect gift for their boss.
The 2-minute conversation, which takes place in an elevator for maximum secrecy, features a businessman and woman, a cleaning woman, a security guard and a delivery man who just happened to be in the wrong elevator at the wrong time and is now privy to a great deal of inside information.
The employees come to the conclusion that their boss is stressed; security footage caught him chewing his nails, his hair is falling out.
What gifts relieve stress?
“A tickling stick?”
“A comfy pillow for sweet dreams?”
The bit plays out until the boss walks in and is unfortunately not stressed in the least. The brilliant gift ideas are thrown out. But in the end, it doesn’t matter, just a gift that shows his team cares works fine and one that isn’t alcohol.
