Taj Mahal Tea has been synonymous with Indian classical music for over four decades, collaborating with Grammy-winning legends like the late Ustad Zakir Hussain and other contemporary maestros. Vijayawada, India, is a key market for Taj Mahal Tea, where people deeply cherish their tea-drinking experience.
To strengthen this connection, we created Chai Bansuri-The Tea Flute—a 500-litre kettle that played the flute, by brewing tea using steam and mechanized fingers.
Installed along the scenic Krishna riverbank, this captivating installation mesmerized audiences and further reinforced the brand’s enduring bond with Indian classical music.
Chai Bansuri-The Tea Flute was brought to life with meticulous attention to detail. A specially designed 500-litre tea kettle was crafted to play a Raga using the steam from brewing tea.
As the tea brewed, rising steam passed through a concealed flute inside the spout, activating mechanized fingers that moved in perfect sync to perform Raag Hamsadhwani (a classical Indian raga). A specially engineered superheater ensured a steady flow of steam at the right pressure, allowing the notes to play seamlessly.

This musical marvel was placed along the scenic banks of the Krishna River—a popular evening spot for families and youngsters, creating an unforgettable experience for all who witnessed it.
