E-waste is the world’s fastest-growing waste. There are up to 50 million metric tons in recent years and it keeps increasing with estimates forecasting that by 2030, that number could swell to 74.7 million tons–nearly doubling the annual amount of new e-waste in just 16 years.
The problem is that when consumers buy something new, the old one instantly turns into a “second-hand gadget” and either gets passed on to someone else or, sadly, thrown away.
To help address this problem, CJ Worx has created an innovative new packaging idea called “SWOPBOX” –a specially-made parcel that is used repeatedly for IT gadgets and contributes to reducing E-Waste.
The idea is in collaboration with SWOPMART, an online marketplace for second-hand gadgets desiring to help extend the lifespan of electronic goods
Once the SWOPBOX, which contains a new IT gadget from an eCommerce platform, arrives to consumers, they can turn it inside out and put their unused IT gadget in and send it back to SWOPMART for resale.
