F5 Shanghai has partnered with China Mobile to launch Cosmic True Heart, an AI-generated short film for the brand’s 10086 customer service platform, for the Qixi Festival in China.
The film follows a young man who loses contact with a girl he meets on a subway after his phone service is interrupted. He then travels across a series of parallel dimensions, including ancient landscapes, Wild West towns, primeval forests and futuristic alien worlds, searching for a chance to reconnect.
The journey eventually returns to the “10086th dimension,” where the call connects through China Mobile’s hotline service. The protagonist then rushes to the next station and reunites with the girl.
The campaign draws on the Qixi Festival’s traditional story of two lovers separated by the Milky Way and reunited once a year. The film applies the theme to modern communication, using missed calls, unstable signals and disconnected moments as the contemporary form of separation.
“Connection is never merely technical. Every signal represents real people, genuine emotions, and irreplaceable encounters. Qixi celebrates reunion across galaxies, while 10086 protects every ordinary connection so no important person is ever missed,” said Adams Fan, Chief Creative Officer, F5 Shanghai.
“Most festival campaigns focus solely on sweet romantic narratives. Instead, we mirrored the mythical ‘galaxy separation’ with modern digital disconnection. By visualizing people’s fear of losing contact, the work achieves broader public resonance,” said Jimyi Xu, Marketing Director, F5 Shanghai.
According to the release, the film uses cross-world adventure scenarios to communicate China Mobile’s 10086 service, which provides 7×24-hour non-stop support for connections.
The entire video was generated using AI. The release says the technology is used as part of the narrative, with the film’s different visual styles corresponding to its journey across 10086 dimensions.
