‘Child Wedding Cards’ by Impact BBDO Dubai Wins Lions Health Grand Prix for Good

The campaign for UN Women sought to persuade lawmakers to pass a bill protecting children from child marriage.

‘Child Wedding Cards’ campaign by Impact BBDO Dubai for UN Women has been awarded the Lions Health Grand Prix for Good.

The campaign which sought to persuade lawmakers to pass a bill protecting children from child marriage, targeted leaders with a direct mail campaign.

Members of the National Assembly of Pakistan were sent invitations to a fictional child’s wedding. The invitation cards were designed by children ranging from ages five to fifteen.


 

The campaign was based on the insight of the cultural tradition of wedding card deliveries, which is highly symbolic for any wedding — printed cards are delivered by hand even today.
