De’Longhi has launched a global campaign for its new Magnifica Duo automatic coffee machine, starring Brad Pitt and directed by Spike Jonze, with creative agency LOLA Madrid.
The campaign, launching globally from September across broadcast, digital and social platforms, promotes a machine that prepares hot and cold milk-based coffee recipes at the touch of a button.
Produced by MJZ, the film follows Pitt as he attempts to find a quiet moment to enjoy a coffee while living with 16 roommates — his dogs. The dogs question why he got up late, why the dishes are not done and why he is dressed up as he searches for what the campaign describes as a small luxury: a cup of coffee.
The work is the latest global campaign from LOLA Madrid as part of its ongoing creative partnership with De’Longhi. According to the release, the campaign centers on the idea of coffee as a personal ritual shaped by taste, mood and the moments that matter most.
Our Duo range is designed to do exactly that – it serves up your perfetto, your way – hot or cold. Through every season and every mood,” said said Aparna Sundaresh, Global Chief Marketing Officer.
“Together with Brad Pitt, Spike Jonze and LOLA Madrid, we have created a campaign that encapsulates this duality – the wins and misses, the hot and cold that swings into every moment. And who better to deliver that in a memorable way, but the duo Brad and Spike! Ably supported by a few special stars, the campaign brings banter, humour and inimitable Italian panache to not just ONE perfetto moment but DUO perfetto moments.”

“Brad is so charismatic, that poking fun at him only adds to his charm,” said Tomás Ostiglia, Chief Creative Officer at LOLA Madrid.
“Spike Jonze crafted the perfect world to do so, by giving 16 dogs their own cheeky characters and strong opinions about coffee. The creative process has been in close collaboration with Spike and the team at MJZ, whose vision makes the campaign feel fresh and unexpected in its category, establishing De’Longhi as a brand with beautiful machines, and a big personality.”
