‘Booberang’ Breast Check Reveals all for Important Breast Cancer Educational Campaign

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we’ve seen agencies pull their creative power to address a worthy cause – such as JWT Sydney’s work with Serena Williams crooning “I Touch Myself” while facing the camera topless with her arms crossed over her breasts.

Leo Burnett London has taken it a step further in an effort to remove (quite literally) whatever apprehension women around the world might have for taking the time to do the all-important breast exam that could save their lives.

Working with Breast Cancer Care, Instagram, and Ridley Scott Associates, the Leo Burnett conceived campaign looks to ignite a movement that uses social Instagrams Boomerang to encourage people to check their breasts.

The campaign also has accompanying infographics allowing women to choose the breast size and color that is right for them and share the resulting image on social media.

Thus, the campaign being dubbed “Booberang”

Part of the effort includes a 60-second ‘breast check’ film that takes a light-hearted approach while featuring multiple types of breasts of all shapes, sizes and skin tones and shows how to check them for early signs of breast cancer.

Using an all-female cast and crew, the film features presenter and influencer Laura Jackson doing the voiceover and was developed with clinical experts at Breast Cancer Care.
